Trial Court Judge Praises Jury Trial Skills Of Criminal Trial Attorney Tom R. Medrano In Complex White Collar Crime Case
On September 9, 2014, the Honorable Robert C. Vanderet issued a written opinion denying defendant David Simard’s Motion for a New Trial. However, in his opinion, Trial Judge Vanderet praised the jury trial skills demonstrated by Trial Attorney Tom R. Medrano in his representation of co-defendant Michael Doran during the two week jury trial.
“It is undoubtedly true that the bulk of the heavy lifting in presenting the defense case, both during and before trial, was left to Tom Medrano, counsel for defendant Doran. Mr. Medrano was masterful in his trial performance, both in his opening and closing, and in his pointed, effective examination of witnesses. He was organized, affable and persuasive, and delivered as fine a professional performance as any lawyer who has appeared before this court.”
