Tom Robert Medrano is an aggressive criminal law trial attorney with more than thirty years of legal experience focused on complex criminal law defense. Throughout his legal career, he has successfully handled a wide range of complex matters successfully defending persons accused of committing homicide cases, white collar crimes, real estate fraud transactions, sex offenses, internet offenses, drug trafficking, driving under the influence cases and credit card fraud. His clients have included medical doctors, attorneys, police detectives, corporate executives, business owners, bank presidents, celebrities and the general working person.

Mr. Medrano earned his bachelor’s degree with honors from the University of California/Berkeley and his law degree with honors from the University of California/Berkeley – “Boalt Hall”. A member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association’s Criminal Law sections and the California State Bar Criminal Law sections, he is licensed to practice in all California state courts and in the U.S. District Court, Central District of California.

Prior to establishing his own Professional Law Corporation, Tom worked for his U.C. Berkeley law professor, John R. Hetland, HETLAND & WILSON, in the area of complex secured land transactions and bankruptcy. Mr. Medrano has also worked with a prominent litigation firm in Southern California and exclusively represented medical doctors handling complex multi-faceted litigation.

Tom was formerly married to Maria Elena Reyes, a prosecutor with the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office. Following her untimely death of cancer in 1995, he has been blessed raising their son, Marco Tomas. Marco was born deaf and has gone on to be honored as a national honors society recipient in High School. Marco is currently enrolled in college. Together, Tom and Marco enjoy traveling the world and recently concluded an African Safari in Tanzania. They are next embarking on a cruise to the Northern European Capitals in 2010. At home, Tom enjoys gardening, biking, hiking, skiing, reading and attending Los Angeles Dodger games with his son.
